The Mica Mining Awareness Campaign is designed to bring awareness to the horrors of the mica industry. Mica is a mineral found in paint, makeup, and almost anything with a shimmer- and is mined by people making less than 5 cents a day, up to 18 hours a day, and as young as 4 years old. There is no regulation for the mining of this mineral. We wanted to create an eye catching, makeup launch inspired campaign. We took our own images to create “makeup dirt” and a themed children’s activity page. The brochure tells the stories of the familes and children who mine for this precious mineral, while also giving information on the industry and what makes it so awful.
